In our church, one tradition is for a father to bless his baby in front of the congregation after the baby is born. Today was that day for Paul and Lily. He held her in his arms and prayed for her to be blessed with strength throughout her life. Paul is such a sweet daddy and his quiet love for our baby girl turns me into a blubbering hot mess (literally, it's 100° here...).
Afterwards, we held a Sip & See at our house for our family and friends. For those of you not raised in one of the great southern states, that's like a post-birth baby shower. You sip tea or lemonade and see the baby - hence, sipping and seeing. It's been a beautiful Sunday.
Sad that I didnt know about it. One day I will get to meet this famous child. :)
